Who We Are

Origins

Tab has been enthusiastic about dogs since the moment he first connected with a dog at the age of 6. What began as the joy for canine friendship soon turned into a first job as a dog walker and training apprentice as a teenager. Inspired by his love of psychology and study of animal behavior in college, he underwent more formal education and began teaching obedience training classes. He instantly fell in love with teaching positive reinforcement based training to others and witnessing how this would lead to transformation in the relationship people can have with their dogs. It was also during this time that he realized how much confusion and bad advice people can encounter when trying to solve everyday behavioral problems. And it was here that a mission came to life.

Inspired by the promise of positive reinforcement philosophy and the value of compassion in relationships, Tab now works as a psychologist. He has maintained his enthusiasm for teaching the art of dog training through his popular YouTube channel. He also enjoys training and participating in dog sports with his five year old Labrador retriever, Watson and Star – a long-haired German Shepherd Dog.

YouTube

Determined to share the creativity and science of dog training, we began to create dog training tutorials for YouTube to share with dog lovers across the world. Thirteen years later, the techniques and methods demonstrated in these videos have been helpful to people across the world and with thousands of dogs achieving excellent results. We strongly believe that good information about effective training should be available without the barriers of cost. When the first video was uploaded, the Training Positive channel accrued 33 subscribers! Floored by this achievement, we continued to create and soon enough garnered 100 subscribers – a milestone moment. Many years and dozens of uploads later, the channel has now surpassed 325,000 subscribers and our commitment to create content that showcases the magic of dog training with the world has never been more resolute.
